Every once in a while, me and my family like to take a trip to the woods and enjoy a night or two sleeping under the stars. It’s a day or two without technology, just pure family interaction and fun, playing outdoor games and hiking in the woods. However, on the last trip our tent broke down, as we’ve had it for quite a while, so it was time to buy a new one. I wanted my new camping tent to be better than the previous one, naturally, so I went online to take a look at all the available options of camping tents on the market.
To my surprise, as I haven’t really had an interest in buying a new tent since the old one was just fine until recently, the market is stacked with many different models and sizes of camping tents. After looking at different models, I finally made my decision and bought a 3 person cocoon-type tent. My decision came down to a couple of factors, so you should evaluate your budget and your needs when you purchase yours, so it can accommodate you and the amount of people you plan to frequently go camping with.
The factors I’m talking about are many, however, the most essential things you need to consider to be satisfied with your purchase are just a few. Size capacity is on top of the list, so you should always choose a model based on the size of the group of people you plan to take shelter with. While evaluating the tent’s capacity, you need to consider the size of the people that will be sleeping in it, whether they toss and turn in their sleep, and whether they’re bringing children with them. In order to avoid issues of the kind, your safest bet is to buy a tent that can house an extra person.
The tent I went with was water-proof and could withstand severe weather conditions. The most popular choice of tent is exactly the one I went with – the three season tent. These are lightweight and are perfect for camping during spring, summer and fall. Most models also have ample mesh panels to improve ventilation as well as keep out insects. They can withstand pours but are not that great for harsh storms, violent winds and snow. So if you’re not camping in the winter, you shouldn’t have any issues with the weather.
And lastly, you should consider things like peak height, floor length, tent doors and tent poles. All of these can be important in deciding which tent you buy for yourself. Depending on personal preference and expectations, you should do further research into all of these features and find a tent that will satisfy your needs. With the online market being so large, you shouldn’t have any problems picking the right tent for you and your family.
